What To Expect

Phare de Biarritz
Biarritz is many things: Europe’s gateway to surfing in the mid-50s, a pioneer of beach tourism (they started promoting it 200 years ago!), and one of the most coveted places to see and be seen. We’ll walk along its promenade admiring the sea and its sumptuous hotels until we reach its 44-meter-high lighthouse.

Mercado Les Halles
We’ll visit the colorful market Les Halles to take the pulse of daily life and get in touch with the greatest that France has to offer: its cheeses, its charcuterie and its bakeries / patisseries. Bon Apetit!

60 minutes • Admission Ticket Free

Protected by a bay, Saint Jean de Luz is a peaceful summer fishing village where we we’ll visit the Maison Adam patisserie where, in 1660 (!) they created the famous ‘macaron’. At that same time, a certain Johannès de Suhigaraychipi, a French corsair who captured more than 100 British, Dutch and Spanish ships, was sailing through the area.

60 minutes • Admission Ticket Free

Corniche Basque
They call it ‘La route de la Corniche’ and it is one (yet another!) of the most beautiful roads in the Basque Country. The section between Ciboure and Hendaye is only 8 kilometers long, but you’ll never want it to end. Well, actually, you will, because when it's over, it will mean that you've reached...

The last (or first, depending on how you look at it) city on the Spanish coast is a privileged place with sea, river, bay, mountains, a fishing district at the forefront of world cuisine (says the New York Times!), and a walled medieval neighborhood (with streets not suitable for heels) at the top.

60 minutes • Admission Ticket Free

There is no better way to get to San Sebastián than through the road that runs along the crest of Mount Jaizkibel, and from which you can see the Basque coast to Bizkaia.

Diego was an awesome guide! My husband and I felt so comfortable at every stop. His English (in addition to his other 4 languages) was great and his in depth knowledge of the history of the region kept us engaged the whole day. Thank you Diego!
Perfect Day of Basque Food & Culture

The day with Ania was truly one of a kind. It did not feel like being on a tour, but more of a natural adventure with a local who is passionate, knowledgeable, and excited about her culture, history and of course, local cuisine. Highly recommended.

Eskerrik asko!

Mikel is an excellent guide. He is well traveled and refined. His depth/breadth of history really enhanced our family’s experience.
The highlight of our trip!

Everything about our time with Ania was amazing! All of the stops we visited were gorgeous and unique. The views of the coast were great as well, and we learned so much about Basque culture! We even got some great recommendations on how to make the most out of the rest of our time in San Sebastián. My mom and I definitely felt like this experience was the highlight of our trip!
Fantastic way to spend a day

Ania was a wonderful guide! She is personable and knowledgeable about the history of Basque Country. I enjoyed our excursion up the coast of France. She has great recommendations for places to go and has connections to places that are not available to the public. I highly recommend this tour especially if you are a first time visitor to this part of the country.
