What To Expect

Fundacion Mapfre - Sala Recoletos
This hall, which opened in 2008, is dedicated to the exhibition of plastic arts created by various artists from the last third of the nineteenth century to just after World War II. It is housed in a building designed by Agustn Ortiz de Villajos for the Duchess of Medina de Torres and built between 1881 and 1884 for her.

The structure initially had four stories and a semi-basement, but in 1910, two towers were added at the corners. The facility now contains an exhibition area with an approximate surface area of 1,000 m2, divided into three rooms, following a succession of refurbishment and restructuring initiatives.

This foundation organizes exhibitions of painting, sculpture, and drawing with a concentration on the period from the last part of the nineteenth century to the present.

Good. We really enjoyed the photo exhibition. Note that they won't let you leave your bags in the locker. So better not come too loaded.
